Enforced disappearances and Kill & dump operations: BRP organize protests to highlight state atrocities in Balochistan

Military operations, enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings of Baloch people have become a daily routine. State forces continue to perpetrate war crimes in Balochistan with impunity including laying landmines in the civilian populated areas, poisoning the sources of drinking waters, bombarding and destroying villages of innocent Baloch villagers and so on.

In a recent case of kill and dump operations, Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies have killed and dumped the dead bodies of previously abducted Baloch Republican Party activists Iftikhar Baloch and Maqbool Baloch. Iftikhar Baloch was abducted by intelligence agencies and security forces from Punjgor and Maqbool Baloch was whisked away from Kharan. Another Baloch namely Daddo Bugti was killed and dumped in Sui, Dera Bugti.

Similarly, the enforced disappearances of Baloch political activists by the Pakistani forces also continue. Another three activists of Baloch Republican Party identified as Mohammad Raheem Baloch, Abdul Ghafoor Baloch and Abdul Qadir Baloch have been abducted by Pakistani security forces from Khuzdar two days ago. Another two Baloch namely Nawaz Bugti and Shaho Bugti have been abducted by security forces from Sui, Dera Bugti, False FIRs have been registered against them to justify their extra-judicial arrest and detention.

Following the rise in state atrocities and gross human rights violations in Balochistan by security forces of Pakistan, Baloch Republican Party has organized protest demonstrations in United Kingdom, Switzerland and Sweden to highlight the ongoing genocide of Baloch people. Baloch Republican Party UK chapter will hold a protest demonstration in front of the official residence of the UK Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street of London on March 17, 2013.

The Sweden chapter of Baloch Republican Party will also hold a protest demonstration on March 17. Besides, the BRP Switzerland chapter has also organized a protest to be held in front of United Nations office in Geneva on March 22. The protests are aimed to highlight the illegal occupation of Balochistan by Pakistani forces occurred on March 27, 1948; March 17, 2005 massacre in Dera Bugti where dozens of civilians including women and children were brutally killed by Pakistan army; Human Rights abuses and state atrocities in Balochistan.

Baloch Republican Party announces references all over Balochistan and elsewhere to pay tribute to BRP activist Shaheed Sher Zaman Kurd. He was a member of Baloch Republican Party in Mach, Balochistan. He was extra-judicially killed and his dead body was dumped on March 14, 2011 in Quetta.
